Meet Our Personal Trainers

All personal trainers at the Student Wellness Centre hold top nationally accredited Personal Training certifications. All of our trainers are also certified in First Aid/CPR/AED. Ashlee Wilhelm-Pedlow – BSc – HK, CSEP CEP, ACE Group Fitness
Ashlee graduated from the University of Guelph in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science, Honours in Human Kinetics. She then went on to further her education at Niagara College by enrolling in a graduate certificate program in Exercise Science for Health and Performance. Upon completion of this program Ashlee challenged CSEP’s Clinical Exercise Physiologist examination and became certified. Ashlee grew up a competitive swimmer and also participated in intermural sports including volleyball, basketball and dodgeball.  Ashlee enjoys working with clients from all walks of life and specializes in strength and circuit training. Ashlee believes in the necessity for living a healthy active lifestyle and is excited to share this knowledge with future clients in order to help them achieve their goals. Outside of the gym she enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors.

Lucas Fernandino, B.Sc Phys.Ed., Ex. Phys. PG Dip., FHP
Lucas has a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion at Fanshawe College and he has his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical education as well as a post-grad diploma in Physiology of exercise from the Centro Universitario de Belo Horizonte in Brazil. He has worked as a personal trainer since 2008. Lucas is a certified CrossFit coach and he is very passionate about technique and safety when training. He is well versed and realistic when it comes to healthy eating and he will make sure you are working with a well-rounded program.

Sarah King, FHP, CSEP-CPT, R.Kin
Sarah is a Certified personal trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology, a Registered Kinesiologist through the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, certified in Functional Movement Screen Level 1 and has completed her Level 2 Nutrition Coaching certification with Precision Nutrition. After graduating Fanshawe College with a Fitness and Health promotion diploma Sarah decided to further her education by obtaining an Bachelor of Arts Honors Specialization Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. Sarah’s specialties include strength training, sport conditioning/training and nutrition coaching. She also enjoys working with beginner clients to develop positive lifestyle habits. Sarah currently plays competitive soccer, enjoys being outdoors, and hiking with her dog

Jason Antunes – BCOMM, Dip.FHP, NSCA-CPT

Growing up in Norfolk County, Jason was active from the start playing sports such as soccer and basketball before eventually beginning resistance training in 2015. Fast forward to current day and Jason has graduated from the Bachelor of Commerce program at the Odette School of Business in 2018, before again graduating from Fanshawe College’s Fitness and Health Promotion program in 2022. Changing careers into the fitness and wellness industry has been an exciting time for him and he is ready to apply his knowledge and experiences with future clients. He believes that prioritizing mental health and balance is required to become a more confident, active, and healthier version of yourself and wants to help his clients achieve exactly that.

Hannah English – Dip.FHP, CSEP CPT, OFC Group Instructor

Being active has always been a huge part of Hannah’s life. From a very young age it was clear she had a lot of energy and needed a way to help channel it. Hannah started off playing soccer and enjoyed gymnastics. She soon added basketball, cross country, track, rugby, lacrosse to that list. In high school she really fell in love with running and decided to run competitive cross county and track and field. Running was always the place where Hannah felt happiest. Because fitness has always been a huge part of her life she knew that she wanted to share it with others. She graduated from Fanshawe College Fitness and Health Promotion in 2022. Soon after, she earned CSEP-CPT and OFC Group Instructor certifications.

Hannah has always felt most at home in fitness and loves to share that love and passion with others. She brings her high energy into every class she teaches and every client she works with while always motivating people and helping them accomplish their goals.

Anique Daley, FHP, CSEP-CPT 


Anique is a Fitness and Health promotion graduate from Fanshawe College and holds her CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer certification. She has always been passionate about fitness and health and is delighted to share that with you. Anique wants to help clients reach their goal and maintain their fitness level. She is a former member of the Fanshawe Women’s Varsity Basketball team, and has had the opportunity to apply her knowledge to high level training programs. She would love to share her expertise with clients of all different fitness level. Anique is a fun and energetic individual that will push you to your limits. In her spare time Anique enjoys the outdoors, rock climbing, playing sports, and stays in tip top shape through regular training.

Brayant Cruz, FHP, ACE-CPT.

Brayant is a Certified Personal Trainer through American Council on Exercise, and is currently in his last term of Fitness and Health Promotion Program. He also graduated from the Bachelor in Medicine in Mexico before enrolling in the FHP program.

His first language is Spanish and he joined a professional soccer team in Mexico at a young age and still plays recreational here in Canada. He loves soccer and that sport has been part of his entire life; he also enjoys basketball and swimming. He arrived in Canada on September 2021 to start the FHP program here at Fanshawe; his goals are to revalidate his studies in medicine here in Canada, to improve his knowledge in exercise programing because he firmly believes exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle. For him, it is essential for a healthcare provider to understand the foundations of being active and health promotion.
